How to cancel Speechify

Cancel where you subscribed, not where you use the app. On the web it is app.speechify.com → your photo → Settings → Cancel Subscription. If you subscribed on an iPhone or through Google Play, cancel in the App Store or Play Store instead — Speechify cannot do it for you there. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access until the period you already paid for runs out.

If you subscribed on the web

Most people did this one.
  1. Sign in at app.speechify.com.
  2. Click your profile photo in the top right corner.
  3. Open Settings.
  4. In the left panel, choose Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

If you subscribed on iPhone or iPad

The charge shows up as Apple, not Speechify.
  1. Open Settings on the device.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select Speechify, then Cancel Subscription.

If you subscribed on Android

The charge goes through Google Play.
  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  3. Select Speechify, then Cancel subscription.
Cancelling is not a refund. It stops the next charge and the ones after it. Money already taken stays taken unless you ask for it back separately.

What their refund policy actually says

  1. Annual plans: refundable only if you contact Speechify within 7 days of the payment and used no more than 2 minutes. Partial refunds are not offered.
  2. Monthly, quarterly and discounted plans: non-refundable.
  3. Bought through Apple: the sale is final on Speechify's side — it falls under Apple's payment policy, so ask Apple.
  4. Anything else: write to support@speechify.com. They say they review requests case by case.
Do it before the trial ends. A free trial becomes a charge on its last day. Cancelling early does not cut the trial short — you keep it to the end.

Leaving because of the price?

Then this part is for you. If you liked having text read aloud but not the bill, Read It To Me does the same core job in Chrome for free: articles, PDFs, Google Docs, Kindle and email, read aloud in dozens of languages. No account, no card, and no word limit on the built-in voices — they run on your own device, so nothing you read is uploaded anywhere.

If you left for another reason, ignore this and take the steps above. The guide is the point of this page.

Steps and refund terms reflect Speechify's own help pages and refund policy as published in July 2026. Companies change these — check their current pages before relying on a deadline. We are not affiliated with Speechify.
